The Omar Khayyám Club

The Omar Khayyám Club of London, established in 1892, is a distinguished society dedicated to celebrating the life and works of the Persian poet Omar Khayyám and his English translator, Edward FitzGerald.

The club is renowned for its convivial gatherings, traditionally held at esteemed venues in London. The Club's annual dinner is held around March 31st, coinciding with FitzGerald's birthday, and has seen participation from prominent literary figures over the years.

Beyond its London meetings, the Omar Khayyám Club has a historical connection with Woodbridge and The Bull. In homage to this legacy, the club occasionally holds summer dinners here with records of such events dating back to the early twentieth century.

For those interested in joining or attending future gatherings, The Bull can pass on enquiries to the London secretary.
